A level further up… are holidays in the Tuxertal valley, the idyllic up-land valley at the end of the Zillertal. From Mayrhofen to the Hintertux Glacier stretches an area of incredible natural beauty, where you can enjoy many different experiences, authentic hospitality and traditions.
Among the 350 perfectly sign-posted hiking trails are for example the moor trail at Penken or the Tuxbach nature trail. And if you prefer a bit more action, you find your challenges in canyoning, mountain biking, rock climbing and on numerous via ferratas or during paragliding.
In the winter you dive into a deeply snow-covered alpine landscape. In the Zillertal 3000 Ski and Glacier World state-of-the-art lifts bring you to an altitude of 3,250m and 196 kilometres of pistes provide for exciting downhills for connoisseurs and experts.
14 kilometres of cross-country skiing trails are tracked for skaters as well as classic cross-country skiers. Snowshoe hikers can discover untouched paths, while winter hikers can explore 68 kilometres of perfectly groomed trails. The Bichlalm, Höllenstein and Grieralm huts are rewarding destinations for tobogganists.
A skiing day with a difference at an altitude from 630m to 3,250m – unique in Austria!
Traditional festivities and events are perfect for getting to know the country and its people. And how to celebrate? The people of the Tuxertal know how to party!
